Irish Country Album of the Year 2012

mick-flavin-picturesGreat news just in Shane Supple’s song Lifetime guarantee as recorded by Irish Country Star Mick Flavin is on Mick Flavins album which has been voted Irish Country Album of the year.

Mick Flavin recorded the song some time ago in 2004 on his album “Try it You’ll Like It” and because it remained one of his favourites he included it in the Essential Mick Flavin Collection Album which won the award. Its great news for Shane as this was one of his first big songs and is also one of his favourite songs.

“When Mick recorded the song I was over the moon, my publisher Paschal Mooney told me about it on the phone last week and we were both delighted that a big name star in the Irish country scene would record it.”

I recorded the song originally with my good friend’s Tony Kirby, who plays Steele & guitar on it and Oliver C Keane who plays piano and strings on it. They produced the song in Tony’s studio Satellite Studios in Cork, and it was included on my first album Original Songs 89 to 99.

originalsongs ftIts great to see that a song like this has generated so much interest both here and across the water where one of the legends in the USA was hoping to record the song on one of his albums, sadly that didnt make it even though the singer wanted to the record company were looking at a different direction for that star.

When I heard that person was interested in recording my song I was over the moon I mean the guy is a legend anda it would have been great but just knowing that he wanted the song means so much more to me, says Shane when we spoke to him about it.
