Art & Shane 18 track album

New 18 track Album from father & son duo, Art & Shane Supple, celebrating 30 years touring and entertaining on the music scene

From Youghal in County Cork, Ireland, Art Supple, the well-known singer and entertainer from the showband scene has with his son Shane recorded and released a brand-new album of duets simply called Art & Shane . The father and son duo have spent over 30 years touring together in Ireland, the UK, and different European countries entertaining many people along the way with Shane alongside his father on stage as part of the backing band.

Art does not need an introduction but since he first hit the airways in 1965 with the song “Showband on Parade” with the Victors showband on the Decca Label Rex reaching number 9 in Irish Charts, he has been constantly turning out songs and albums of great quality. Art is one of the most versatile singers on the circuit today and still entertains crowds at shows up and down the country.

Shane having spent his time with Art touring and working with other top entertainers from the Irish music world, Brendan Shine, Paddy O’Brien and many other bands over the last 20 years has also been busy making waves in the Irish music scene with some of his original songs being recorded by other Irish artists, from Mick Flavin, Kevin Prendergast, Art and other well-known singers and entertainers.

Through all that time from TV Shows to recording DVD’s Art and Shane had never done many duets. Once the lockdown over the Covid virus came into effect and with time on their hands as touring had come to a standstill the father and son team decided now was a good time to put together an album of songs that they had often discussed but never got around to. They booked into Claycastle recording studio in Youghal and spent several months putting the tracks together to come up with this new album of familiar and not so familiar songs, simply called Art & Shane.
